01 โ WHAT IS THIS?
This is a 4-hour cultural exchange experience where you spend the day with a Japanese local host โ not a tour guide. Instead of just walking and watching, you complete small local missions together, like hanging out with a Japanese friend who happens to know the city.
A real local โ not a tour guide. They share their everyday Tokyo and join you for missions like a friend would.
Small, fun activities you do together. Choose missions yourself โ or let the dice surprise you. All options are prepared in advance.
Relaxed, conversational, and curious. Food is optional, not the focus. This is about doing local things together.
02 โ HOW IT WORKS
Tell us your dates, interests, and the kind of day you're hoping for.
We match you with a Japanese host based on availability, interests, and communication style.
Based on your interests, we prepare a custom set of 6 mission options for your day. Choose from them yourself โ or let the dice decide.
Meet your host and enjoy 4 hours of local missions, conversation, and small detours.
WITHOUT FOOD
WITH FOOD / CAFร
Food is optional, not the focus of the experience. Choose your own spot, ask your host for a local recommendation, or skip food entirely.
03 โ SAMPLE MAIN MISSIONS
The missions shown below are examples, not a fixed menu. Before your experience, we ask about your interests and prepare 6 mission options that fit your vibe, route, season, and host availability. You can choose from those 6 options yourself โ or let the dice decide.
Take purikura photos and challenge your host to Taiko no Tatsujin. Pure Japanese arcade fun โ the closest thing to hanging out with a Japanese friend.
Learn the proper temizu (purification) and prayer rituals at a Japanese shrine, then draw an omikuji fortune. Real cultural experience, no fluff.
Hunt for an omamori that matches your wish โ health, work, safe travels, good luck, or warding off bad fortune. Learn Japanese shrine culture firsthand.
Step into a Shลwa-era cafรฉ for cream soda, purin, napolitan or hotcakes. Old-school Japan, the kind locals grew up with.
Convert your name into kanji with your host and make an original hanko stamp. A souvenir you can only get with a Japanese friend's help.
Pick a Japanese-style postcard, write a message to family, a friend, or your future self, and mail it from Japan. The memory arrives after you do.
One hour of Japanese karaoke. The most friend-feel mission of all. Optional and swappable โ choose another mission if you (or your host) prefer.
Track down small local histories, old buildings, or the meaning behind a place name. Not a heavy tour โ just little stories of the neighborhood.
Ride something only that area has โ like the Sea Bass in Yokohama or the Enoden in Kamakura. The journey itself becomes the local experience.
Try a fortune-teller in Yokohama Chinatown or another local spot. Playful, slightly strange, and very much a friend-day activity.
04 โ SAMPLE SMALL LOCAL STOPS
Quick, low-key activities you slip in between bigger moments. Each experience usually includes 1โ2 small stops, depending on whether food is included. The stops shown below are examples โ we may suggest different small stops depending on your interests, area, weather, timing, and route.
Take a serious-faced Japanese ID photo in a roadside booth. Not cute like purikura โ just a strangely-Japanese everyday moment.
Ask a passerby to take a photo of you and your host. Light interaction with strangers โ natural, brief, and a great memory.
One spin of a gachapon. Take home whatever comes out as your "fortune of the day" and a tiny Japanese souvenir.
Draw an omikuji at a shrine and let your host translate what fate has in store for you today.
Print today's photo at a konbini and add a one-line note โ one from you, one from your host. A small physical memory.
Try a small Japanese sweet โ taiyaki, dango, ningyo-yaki, or whatever your host recommends. Lighter than a meal, distinctly Japanese.
05 โ FOOD / CAFร
Food and drinks are not the focus of this experience โ they're optional. You can include a cafรฉ or meal stop if you want, or skip it entirely and use the time for more missions.
Tell us a place you've been wanting to try. We'll work it into the day.
Let your host take you somewhere they actually go โ from a curated shortlist.
No food, no problem. Add another small stop instead and keep moving.
06 โ ABOUT THE DICE
The dice are one way to pick your mission โ not the whole point of the experience. Before your day, we prepare a custom set of 6 mission options for you. The dice only chooses from those 6 options โ not from every mission on this page.
โ PICK YOURSELF
Choose from your custom set of 6 options prepared based on your interests. Done.
๐ฒ OR LET THE DICE DECIDE
Don't want to think about it? We prepare 6 custom mission options before the day, and your host rolls the dice from that list โ not from every mission on this page.
The dice adds surprise โ but all missions are safe, realistic, and agreed on in advance.
The dice only picks from the 6 options customized for your day.
